3 Injured When Boat Fire Sparks Explosion At Florida Marina

Authorities say three people are recovering from their injuries after a boat fire sparked an explosion at a north Florida marina.

The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/2fvnxFF ) reports firefighters found the victims in the St. Johns River and a boat engulfed in flames on Saturday evening at the Green Cove Springs Marina.

Police tell the newspaper the fire spread quickly, causing severe damage to three other boats.

Officer Kimberly Robinson says two people suffered burns on their arms and were taken to UF Health Shands in Gainesville for treatment. A third person was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the state Fire Marshal's Office are investigating.
