Gov. Rick Scott and other members of the state Elections Canvassing Commission on Tuesday formally certified the results of the March 15 presidential primary elections won by Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton. Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner said more people turned up for this month’s presidential primary than ever before. "The turnout was 46.23 percent," he said. "Every election is different, but that is an historic turnout. I am pleased to report that people have options in voting now. People can vote early, they can vote by mail and they can vote on Election Day.” Detzner said the state is well-prepared for the remaining elections in 2016. He is encouraging Floridians to check their voter registration cards to make sure their party affiliation and home address are correct ahead of the Aug. 30 primary.
