The #1 Florida Gators are back in the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2017.

The No. 1 seeded Florida Gators got the job done against 16th seeded Norfolk State, 95-69, to advance to the Round of 32 in the men's basketball NCAA tournament.

The No. 1-seeded Florida Gators are in Raleigh, North Carolina, for the first and second rounds of the NCAA tournament. The Gators face 16-seed Norfolk State Friday in their opening game at the Lenovo Center, home of the North Carolina State Wolfpack.

For 42 years, Brodach has been the announcer, statistician and numerous other positions for multiple sports at GHS. “I’m a super sports fan, and I love that we have a big community of alumni, fans and parental support here with the athletic program,” Brodach said.

On Wednesday, they added a local Gainesville receiver to the mix. Preferred walk-on David Schmidt comes to the team from Newberry High School.
