Local High School Basketball Team Tutors Young Students

Members of the local Hawthorne High School basketball team spend their Monday afternoons helping Chester Shell Elementary school students improve their reading skills as part of the Barbara Bush Foundation’s Teen Trendsetters program. Hawthorne High School’s head football coach, former UF and NFL player Cornelius Ingram, helped to get the athletes involved in the program.

Kilwins Of Jacksonville Recognized For Employing People With Disabilities

In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Kilwins Jacksonville was recognized as an Exceptional Employer on Oct. 7 at Tallahassee City Hall. Dana Stallings, owner of Kilwins Jacksonville, has made it a mission to consistently employ people with disabilities. Not only does employment benefit people with disabilities, but it also benefits their co-workers, she said.
