The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration visited HCA Florida North Florida Hospital earlier this month to conduct a formal inspection, AHCA communications staff confirmed.
The agency’s Feb. 6 visit to the facility, 6500 W. Newberry Road, comes nearly three weeks after the HCA Florida Healthcare building suspended surgical operations due to a lack of sterilized equipment. Hospital staff reported tools contaminated with blood and tissue, in addition to compromised trays.
HCA Florida North Florida Hospital CEO Eric Lawson wrote in a statement to medical staff on Jan. 30 that elective surgeries would resume until at least Feb. 9.
Florida AHCA said it has not yet completed its inspection report. Details will be released on FloridaHealthFinder.gov.
