The Alachua County Health Department is opening a health clinic to provide health care to thousands of low-income residents. The clinic, which is due to open next summer, will be southwest of Gainesville.
The new clinic will mean fewer trips to local hospitals and emergency rooms, said Paul Myers, a health department administrator.
This project is is led by Southwest Advocacy Group, a non-profit, and involves efforts from partners such as the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida Foundation and the Rotary Club of Gainesville Foundation.
