Attention shoppers: A new specialty store is headed your way.
Artsy Abode, a well-known store throughout North Central Florida, will be opening at the Oaks Mall on Friday. The store will be located across from Starbucks near the food court.
Owner Leah Lytle said Artsy Abode will sell Flirties, Pandora jewelry, the Brighton Collection, Vera Bradley and more.
Lytle was also owner of Lily Pad, which closed its doors at the Oaks Mall Sunday. Lytle said customers at Artsy Abode can look forward to an expanded assortment of products and improved services.
“We are adding unique services at no charge and have hired a fantastic manager and staff that care about making your shopping experience the best it can be,” Lytle said. “We will also provide new, unique offerings that we hope the Gainesville community will love.”
Other locations throughout North Central Florida include Daytona Beach, Fleming Island, Jacksonville and Ocala.
Artsy Abode has products for a variety of price ranges. The Lilly Pulitzer and wine products range from $10 to $65.
Some of the more specialty products, including pieces from the Sticks Furniture Inc. collection cost an average of $50 to $1,000. The larger pieces can retail for up to $7,000.
Lyndsay Wolfe, a 21-year-old University of Florida zoology junior from Jacksonville, said she has shopped at Artsy Abode at the St. Johns Town Center.
"I had no idea they were putting one in Gainesville," Wolfe said. "I really like their earrings, especially the Gator ones I recently got."
Customers can expect opening specials that will “be like Christmas in October,” according to Lytle.
Lytle, who has three degrees from UF, said she is looking forward to a Gainesville location.
“I celebrated the happiest moments of my life in Gainesville,” Lytle said. “It’s only natural to want to bring Artsy to where I came up with the idea.”
