Kennith Baldinelli, 17, of Melrose and Titan O. Chaney, 15, of Middleburg were arrested on Sunday in Georgia after stealing three cars, according to law enforcement.
Baldinelli and Chaney stole a car from the Melrose area to meet a girl in Williston. They later left the car shortly after they met her and stole a 2006 Pontiac from a home near Williston.
They then abandoned the Pontiac at a store and went on to steal a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado from a nearby home, at which point the girl left.
The owner of the Silverado immediately reported the truck as stolen and it was entered into a nationwide database as a stolen vehicle. The Tift County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) in Georgia then located the car and arrested them.
They were placed in a juvenile detention center where TCSO notified Levy County Sheriff's Office of the arrest.
Baldinelli and Chaney will face two counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle in Levy County while Alachua County Sheriff’s Office is expected to file additional charges in their jurisdiction.
