Two Levy County residents were arrested after Levy County Sheriff's deputies and Drug Enforcement Administration agents raided an indoor marijuana grow house Tuesday.
Eduardo Alvarez-Carillo, 44, and Clara Isis Exposito, 38, were arrested and booked into Levy County Detention Facility charged with possession of cannabis and cultivation of cannabis over 20 pounds, according to police.
Officers discovered a hidden room within the home, located at 10150 NE 103 Lane in Bronson, and seized marijuana plants in various stages of development. Some were harvested and ready for sale while others were in the beginning stages of growth.
A total of 58 plants with a street value of $58,000 were seized.
During the investigation, police said, they discovered that the homeowner had been stealing thousands of dollars of electrical power to support the grow operation.
Additional charges may stem from that discovery.
Bond was set at $600,000 for both Exposito and Alvarez-Carillo.
