The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida partnered with the Mobile Outreach Clinic to provide people of lower income with free medical care. It's also providing people with the opportunity to sign-up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act.

St. Francis House will be one of the Gainesville nonprofit organizations that participate in the Cold Night Shelter Program this year. The program awards $25,000 to nonprofits throughout the City of Gainesville to shelter people in need during the winter months when temperatures go below 45 degree Fahrenheit.

The town of Micanopy plans to construct sidewalks through the Florida Department of Transportation. Although the sidewalks are for safety precaution, residents oppose plans because they are afraid the FDOT will cut down their Heritage Oak trees.
