Holiday Food Drive Combats Alachua County Students’ Food Insecurity

The Alachua County Public Schools District is collecting food items for the Holiday Food Drive until Dec. 12 and will accept money donations until Dec. 18. The food boxes will benefit about 1,000 families this year.

The after-school supper and snack program in Alachua County began in 2014 at C. W. Norton Elementary and has since expanded to 33 more locations including elementary, middle and high schools – with three added in the past month.
