Hurricane preparation at local supermarkets

By and

People all over Gainesville begin to prepare for Hurricane Ian by making final supply runs.

The thought of hurricane preparation might lead someone to picture people in a frenzy, buying water off a palette, and long lines at big chain grocery stores. At local supermarket Ward’s however, the environment is quite different from that, and one manager says that that’s their goal.

Among the most popular non-perishable goods for hurricanes are beans, rice, and granolas. Welker said the last shipment is expected Wednesday, so those who have not began preparing yet might want to begin.
