Here are the projects around north central Florida that lawmakers funded in the 2022 budget

Florida lawmakers on Monday passed a record $112.1 billion budget to end the 2022 legislative session.

Among the billions of dollars in state appropriations are hundreds of millions in local funding. Gov. Ron DeSantis is now reviewing the budget and could use his line-item veto power to cancel individual projects.

The new budget takes effect July 1. Here's a county-by-county breakdown of what got funded and in what areas:

Alachua County


  • Education 

    • Specific Appropriation 79 for the School Readiness Program → $12,715,595 
    • Specific Appropriation 82 for the Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program → $4,199,242
    • Specific Appropriation 7 from the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund and Specific Appropriation 118 from the General Revenue Fund for school district workforce education programs → $546,784
    • Santa Fe College

      • Specific Appropriation 17 to renovate/Remodel Building K - Repurpose Academic Space and Correct Deferred Maintenance (Phase 1) (HB 4713) → $3,775,899
      • 2+2 Student Success Incentive Fund → $693,575
      • Work Florida Student Success Incentive Fund → $181,588
      • Educational Enhancement Trust Fund and Specific Appropriation 125 from General Revenue Fund → $44,452,602
      • Specific Appropriation 126A → $1,545,943
      • Section 10: Santa Fe College - Construct an athletic field house from local funds at the State Board of Education approved Northwest (Gainesville) Campus

    • Specific Appropriation 3240 for felony and/or misdemeanor pretrial or post-adjudicatory veterans’ treatment intervention programs → Alachua: $150,000
    • The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is authorized to grant  critical  market  pay additives to sworn law enforcement officers residing in and assigned to:

      • Alachua, Baker,  Brevard,  Clay,  Charlotte, Flagler, Indian River, Manatee, Martin, Nassau, Osceola, Pasco, Sarasota, Santa Rosa, Seminole, St. Johns, St. Lucie, and Volusia counties at $5,000.
    • Specific Appropriation 22 for projects to correct health/safety issues, correct building deficiencies and complete renovations at public broadcasting stations: 

      • WUFT-TV/FM, Gainesville/Ocala - update FPREN StormCenter Infrastructure Phase 4 → $1,242,000

Bradford County


  • Education 

    • K-7 New School (HB 9047) → $10,303,324
    • Specific Appropriation 79 for the School Readiness Program

      • St. Johns, Putnam, Clay, Nassau, Baker, Bradford → $20,985,731
    • Specific Appropriation 82 for the Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program
