A University of Florida student died today after falling from the fourth floor of Little Hall.

Two other UF students were standing outside of the building when they heard a loud noise behind them, UF police Maj. Brad Barber said. When they turned around, they saw the student on the ground.

They immediately began to administer CPR and called 911, Barber said. When emergency personnel showed up, they took over CPR from the students.

“The individual was then transported to UF Health Shands, where he succumbed to his injuries,” Barber said.

Police are continuing the investigation but don’t expect foul play to be involved.
