In the early morning hours on Sunday, April 23, a house was transported by truck from 1106 NW 6th Pl., to 1129 NE 3rd Ave. The project was organized by Tyler Smith and Roberta Lopez to move the more than 100-year-old home two miles to a plot of land where Cora Peterson Roberson once lived. The house took about the same route that Roberson would take as a child to A. Quinn Jones’s Old Lincoln School. Tyler Smith says he hopes to restore the house and eventually turn it into affordable housing for the Gainesville community. The house took about an hour to transport.
