The new county boundaries would stretch from the Gilchrist County-Alachua County border east to West 34th Street in Gainesville.

The tourism industry has been hit hard during the pandemic, but Alachua County is working to combat the harsh effects locally.

A new, larger location for the Alachua County fairgounds will feature a new arena and auditorium to host a variety of events like graduations, sporting events and concerts.
