The idea for this location — first floated a little over a year ago — has seen its share of controversy in reaching this point, but on Tuesday, the commissioners were all in.

The denial, however, is not set in stone.

In perhaps another sign of the times Tuesday, a Duke Energy power outage prevented residents from airing concerns about a proposed solar facility that would be managed by the utility.

The system could have helped with contact tracing, county officials believed.
