Duckpond neighborhood

There used to be more than 100 Christmas tree farms across the state, but in recent years that number has dwindled to less than 20, said John Gregory, owner of Unicorn Hill Christmas Tree Farm.

Florida Historical Marker Council agreed Friday to place a marker honoring Gainesville legend Tom Petty in the “Duckpond” neighborhood where the singer-songwriter, who died nearly two years ago, grew up.
