Senior Community In Marion County Holds Hurricane Preparedness Meeting

Emergency managers for Rolling Greens, a mobile home community for seniors in Marion County, hosted the annual hurricane preparedness meeting for residents.

Managers reminded the residents that preparations are a process and to not wait until the last minute, reflecting on Hurricane Irma when they were forced to evacuate and were without power for five days.

"Planning ahead of time, writing it down on paper, coming up with guidelines: where to meet, how to evacuate," are all things that Robert Sullivan, Emergency Manager Coordinator, encouraged residents to arrange ahead of time.

Seniors were also given "File of Life" forms to make note of medical information such as medications, dosage and frequency.
