Candidate Profiles: Gainesville's Mayoral and District 4 Races

Gainesville residents who registered to vote by Feb. 16 will have the opportunity to cast a ballot for their preferred mayoral and Gainesville City Commission District 4 candidate. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 15.

Before visiting the polls, voters can review WUFT's question-and-answer sessions with each candidate, along with information about important locations and election-day tips from the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections.

Voting Requirements 


  • Residents must vote at the appropriate precinct, which can be found by looking at a personal Voter Information Card or using the Precinct Finder. A list of locations can be found here.
  • Check the supervisor's website for location changes prior to voting.
  • Voters must bring picture and signature identification, such as the following:

    • Florida Driver's License
    • Florida ID Card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
    • United States Passport
    • Debit or Credit Card
    • Military ID
    • Student ID
    • Retirement Center ID
    • Neighborhood Association ID
    • Public Assistance ID (Social Security or other social services)
  • Utility bills, bank statements, government checks, paychecks and other government documents are accepted as signature identification if they contain the voter's name and current address.
