Police: Woman Found Outside Home Was A Homicide Victim

Police are conducting a homicide investigation after a 70-year-old woman was found dead outside her home in Ocala.

Local news agencies report that a relative discovered Lizzie Ree Bracey dead in her yard on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said they first thought Bracey died because of a medical issue, but after noticing signs of trauma to her body, they are calling her death a homicide.

Investigators have not specifically said how she died.

Detectives say Bracey lived at the house with her adult son, who was not at home at the time.

Investigators have been scouring the area near the home in search of any clues that may be connected to the case.

No arrests have been made yet.
