The Gainesville Community Redevelopment Agency will host an open house tomorrow for residents and business people to review and give feedback on the redesign of Bo Diddley Plaza.
Vidal-Finn, the agency’s manager, said the goal of the design is to create a signature downtown destination that will increase visibility, safety and accessibility.
The redesign blueprints were created by Dag Architects Inc., and were approved last year. The project has a conceptual estimate of $1.48 million, Vidal-Finn said. Construction is set to begin in late fall.
The open house will have three sessions -- 10:30a.m. to noon, 1:30-3 p.m. and 5:30-7 p.m. -- and will be held in the CRA conference room, located upstairs at 802 NW Fifth Ave., Suite 200. Space is limited, so attendees are encouraged to RSVP Vidal-Finn. She can be reached at 352-393-8203 or vidalsc@gainesvillecra.com.
