Seeing images of disaster and destruction can be difficult to process.
In the wake of the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, some of the images are almost inevitable. They may fill your timeline, or you may see them in text threads. When you open your news app, they are likely there waiting for you.
Experts say that those upset by the images may want to take mental health breaks, moderate consumption of media during trauma, talk about their feelings, practice stress management and relaxation techniques, and be mindful of other triggers.
