Al Sharpton stresses non violence in quest for arrest

By Matthew Pettie - WMFE-FM

The Reverend Al Sharpton said neither Trayvon Martin’s family nor his supporters condone any acts or language of violence in their quest for justice.  Sharpton says he is not quote “anti- Zimmerman” in his quest for justice for Trayvon Martin, the teenager shot dead in Sanford in February.

Sharpton and the Martin family legal team held a news conference in Washington DC earlier Wednesday.  Sharpton restated his demand for the arrest of the shooter George Zimmerman.  But he said neither Martin’s family nor his supporters condone any acts or language of violence in their quest for justice. “We are not running a hate campaign, this is a love campaign. We love our children, we love Trayvon. We are not even anti-Zimmerman. We are anti those who think they can break the law and not have to stand before the bar of justice.” State prosecutor Angela Corey will hold a news conference beginning at 6 p.m. in Jacksonville.
