Death penalty being sought in Gainesville home invasion case

State Attorney Bill Cervone in Gainesville will seek the death penalty for a man accused of killing a 78-year old  northwest Gainesville man. Authorities allege Paul Quandit was beaten, stabbed, and tied up by cousins Maranda Martin and Austin Jones. State Attorney Bill Cervone says Jones' involvement is part of the reason why he is seeking the death penalty.

Jones and Martin were indicted on seven charges Wednesday, which include first degree murder, kidnapping, and grand theft auto. They are both still in jail with Jones' bond being one million dollars and Martin's $950,000.
