Construction of the two new UF Health Shands hospitals is ahead of schedule. The twin hospitals will bring more specialization in heart and cardiovascular diseases and neuromedicine units.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday that it will be assigning a deputy to just agricultural duties, such as assisting with missing or loose livestock, helping the county's animal-control employees and investigating stolen farm equipment.
