New mothers will see an increase of baby-friendly hospitals thanks to a National Breastfeeding Program known as the National Best Fed Beginnings program that aims to improve breastfeeding support for mothers. Shands Hospital for Children at the University of Florida is one of the 90 hospitals selected out of 235 applicants to participate in the program. Florida's 89.1, WUFT-FM's Fernanda Ponce spoke to UF Center for Breast Feeding and Newborns Physician Neonatologist Sandra Sullivan about what this means for new mothers and the hospital itself.
