WUFT Morning Edition host Glenn Richards speaks with journalist Gregory Warner, host of Rough Translation, NPR’s international podcast that explores how things we are talking about in the U.S. are being talked about somewhere else in the world.
The second season takes new journeys to hear from people searching for a bridge from one worldview to another, even when everyone’s telling them you can’t get there from here. Two stories aired on Morning Edition last month and a third story, “Afghan Hands,” airs Monday, July 16.
Gregory Warner was formerly NPR's East Africa Correspondent and was part of the NPR team that earned a George Foster Peabody Award for coverage of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. He was also a senior reporter for American Public Media's Marketplace and has filed stories from around the world for Planet Money, This American Life, and Radiolab.

A Radiolab Extra from 2017:
When he brought his accordion to the Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif on the New Year's festival of Norouz, reporter Gregory Warner was hoping to jam with some traditional Afghan musicians. He didn't realize he'd be asked to get on stage and play a tune.
