Citrus County is working to recover from damage from the strong storms that moved through the area Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. County commission officials posted these images of damaged homes and roads on their Facebook page. According to the post, county leaders have closed schools and roads for the day as they assess the damage.
Florida Public Radio Emergency Network Chief Meteorologist Jeff George said the area was under a tornado warning for much of the morning and the damage is consistent with a tornado, but he added the National Weather Service will need to survey the damage to give official determination on whether a tornado hit.
