A group of Gainesville Regional Utilities linemen competed at the Florida Municipal Electric Association and Orlando Utilities Commison's 2023 Florida Lineman Competition earlier this month.
A multitude of companies came from all over Florida to compete at the competition in Orlando. Competitors took part in events such as mutual aid and the hurtman rescue. City of Tallahassee Utilities won first place overall for the journeymen competition and Ryan Kornegay of JEA won first place overall for the apprentice category.
