Yesterday evacuation at Mebane middle school in Alachua came at 8:30 a.m.
“The school notified the school resource officer of a bomb threat. Some writing was on the bathroom wall,” said Jesse Sandusky from Alachua County Sheriff’s Department.
The sheriff’s office brought in a K-9 unit to help search the school and student backpacks. After the area was cleared, students were permitted to return to campus.
Investigators began reviewing school surveillance video of people entering and leaving the bathroom.
They may be able to identify potential suspects for questioning based on the video.
