A body recovered by search crews looking for a small plane that went missing Sunday near Cedar Key has been identified.
The body, which was found this morning, has been confirmed as plane pilot Jasper Jerrels, 65, said Lt. Scott Tummond, a spokesman for the Levy County Sherriff’s Office.
The body was found about 7 miles south-southeast of Cedar Key, Tummond said.
The sheriff’s office and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are still searching for the two other passengers: Jerrels’ girlfriend and son.
The plane also has not been located, Tummond said.
The search was temporarily suspended today because of weather conditions, but it will resume Thursday weather permitting, he said.
