Marion County Sheriff's Office seeking reaccreditation

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office will be examined on July 21, 2011 to determine if it meets the 84 new standards necessary for re-accreditation. The re-accreditation process is voluntary, and occurs every three years for Marion County. Subjects addressed in the new standards include policies and procedures, operations, management and support services. WUFT-FM’s Kareem Sandy spoke with Marion County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Judge Cochran, who says accreditation is a very important aspect of validation, and new additions to accreditation are generally inclusive.
