Oak Hammock hosts candidates forum

Oak Hammock residents got a special opportunity to interact with local candidates. Oak Hammock hosted a local candidates forum for residents Tuesday evening.

Gainesville mayoral, city commission and Alachua County School Board candidates got to make their case to the retirement community. The mayoral candidates discussed issues ranging from housing to transportation to renewable energy. The school board forum addressed issues such as behavior and teacher shortages.

The Gainesville city elections are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23.
