SparkTruck Helps Ignite Student Interest in Innovation and Technology

On Wednesday, 164 university presidents, including the University of Florida's Bernie Machen, wrote an open letter to President Barack Obama and Congress voicing their concerns about the widening "innovation deficit" created by federal cuts in research and higher education. "Innovation" is one of President Machen's passions. On Thursday, he attended a unique event at the Cade Museum on South Main Street aimed at lighting a spark in kids' interest in technology. WUFT's Brandan McCalla has more.
