This weekend’s Orange and Blue Game will draw thousands of people to Gainesville. That’s exactly what the organizers of the Santa Fe Springs Arts Festival and the Battle of the Bands are happy about. Drawing people to Gainesville’s downtown can mean an “economic boost” for the community. Thirty years ago downtown Gainesville had one-million square feet of empty space and a high crime rate. But as Lauren Buchwald reports, now downtown is thriving with new business after the completion of several remodelling projects:
