  • University of Florida Student Government elections was dominated by the Swamp Party, which won 37 senate seats; the Students Party won 13. Swamp Party presidential candidate Christina Bonarrigo won with 66 percent of the vote.
  • Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy Francisco Javier Perez resigned Wednesday after being arrested on six counts of introducing contraband. Perez was accused of sending love letters to an inmate.
  • Florida is ranked No. 4 in nation for high school graduates passing Advanced Placement exams.
  • Vice President Joe Biden will be speaking at a gun violence conference in Connecticut Thursday.
  • A fugitive wanted for the murder of his ex-girlfriend in Chicago more than a decade ago has been captured by police in Mexico and is awaiting extradition to the U.S.
