A Starke elementary school teacher has been suspended with pay from Southside Elementary School, 823 Stansbury St., following an investigation into allegations that she physically abused a 6-year-old student with a mental disability.

The Bradford County School District shut down its schools for today after Starke's Bradford Middle School received a threat by voicemail on Sunday night.

Workers at Starke Elementary School help to insure the building will be safe for students by March 18, 2014. The school was closed Aug. 23 due to mold, and students were relocated to nearby schools.

Starke Elementary School will reopen March 18th, according to a Bradford County School District press release. The school was closed Aug. 23 after a building health report determined there was a mold problem. Students resumed classes at alternate locations on Sept. 3.
