The annual Downtown Festival & Art Show is this weekend, and like its name suggests, it will be held in downtown Gainesville on Nov. 14 and 15. Due to the expected high levels traffic, Gainesville Regional Transit System released a map of alternatives to the usual downtown routes.

Roads will be closed between the Hippodrome State Theatre and City Hall for the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. University Avenue and Southeast 2nd Place between Southeast Main Street and Southeast 3rd Street (including Main and 3rd) will be closed. RTS is rerouting bus 1, 5, 15 and 25 for the event.

The festival will feature over 240 local and national artists, and will begin with a free downtown blues concert from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Visitors can view photography, oil and acrylic paintings, ceramics and more. There will also be ongoing musical performances, food vendors and informational booths to visit.

Admission is free and dogs on leashes are allowed.
