The Kanapaha Botanical Gardens offers a variety of attractions and services that guests can come and enjoy, as well as hosting special events.
They offer 24 collections of plants and flowers include a rose garden, a vinery, a hummingbird and butterfly garden, and a sinkhole overlook. Summer offers the most colorful time at the gardens.
Located at 4700 SW 58th Dr. in Gainesville, the gardens are open every day of the week except Thursdays. The gardens are pet-friendly and allow dogs, as long as they are on a leash.
On May 14, Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is hosting a Moonlight Walk, which will feature approximately 1,500 luminaries according to its website. The Alachua Astronomy Club will provide telescopes to look at the night sky. Admission is $14 for adults and $7 for children (cash only).
