Search continues for suspected kidnapper

The Gainesville Police Department is continuing their search for a suspect involved in a student kidnapping Tuesday night. GPD Corporal Angelina Valuri says the student brought the suspect into his apartment where the hours-long kidnapping continued.

GPD identified the suspect as Ronald Newman, an armed 44-year-old man with a grey beard.  Valuri says this is a very unusual case and community residents should report any suspicious activity.
