Watch the replay of WUFT’s broadcast of the 2011 UF Homecoming Parade held November 4, 2011 in Gainesville, Florida.
The “Our Town” project provides our viewers with an in-depth look into the quaint communities of North Central Florida while offering a history of each town we feature. Each one-hour show will feature two towns and the communities that make them unique. We want our viewers to see what great things the small towns of North Central Florida have to offer and we want to feature the people in these communities that make the towns special.
This one-hour program features the Buchholz High School bands in performance at the Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Gainesville. Major Scott Gidry, Deputy Commander of the United States Air Force Band, serves as guest conductor of the concert which includes a special tribute to Lance Corporal Phillip Clark, a 2008 Buchholz High graduate who was killed in battle on May 2010.
It was a night of culture and celebration during the UF homecoming celebration, but groups competing know there is so much more. This is the ultimate respect… a chance to perform in front of 40,000 screaming Gators at Growl.
