Evinston resident Ashley Wood is spending his retirement completely renovating his more than 100-year-old home. The house was built by Evinston’s founder, an ancestor of Wood, and has stayed in the family for generations.

The new Legacy Park, soon to be constructed next to the Hal Brady Recreation Complex in Alachua, will be designed by Alachua-based architecture firm Paul Stresing Associates Inc. Phase one of the park’s construction, including a multipurpose center along with a nature trail and pavilion, is set to begin in April 2016 and will finish construction a year later.
