Alachua County fairground move remains a ferris wheel of debate

The Alachua County Commission decided to postpone the decision on whether or not to move the fairgrounds from North East Gainesville to Newberry by a month. Citizens from East Gainesville believe they had a committment from the board and the fairgrounds should remain where it is. However, some Newberry citizens believe it would make more sense financially for the fairgrounds to move to Newberry. East Gainesville Community Activist Doris Edwards says the news is heartbreaking.
