Unrequited: Dani Holmes

Dani Holmes is a self-described pessimistic romantic, meaning she believes in fairy tales and happy endings, but she doesn’t think those things are going to happen to her.

Back in high school, when Chris pulled out his Walkman and played Give Me Novocaine by Green Day, Dani was love struck.

She was no longer an awkward third wheel, hiding her loneliness. She had Chris. Her best friend.

The two made a pact: If they were both single when they turned 30, they would get married.

Dani, now 30, told her story of heartbreak and unrequited love at The Wooly in Downtown Gainesville as part of a live show in October. She talks with host Taylor Williams about hope, happy endings and finding comfort in loneliness.
