Horse attacking a gator at Paynes Prairie. I'm still shaking. Also: I did contact the reserve to check on the horse and gator. There were no clear signs of distress / bleeding when we left the site.“To use this video in a commercial player or in broadcasts, please email licensing@storyful.com”

A wild horse attacked an alligator Wednesday at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park.

The alligator was on the trail in front of a group of visitors while a group of horses grazed nearby. One horse then charged and came down on the alligator multiple times.

Facebook user Krystal Berry posted the video.

  1. This isnt news, it’s nature.

  2. Virginia Annable, you would better serve the community if you take a photographer / videographer out to the 441 entrance side of Paynes Prairie and document the rundown conditions. i.e. restrooms that have been closed for 2 years, no electric in the picnic pavilions, trails in desperate need of maintenance, etc. But that would require some footwork, real journalism and perhaps even the boldness to go after the right people. Much harder than merely posting a lick to someone else’s video and calling “news”, eh?

  3. What a bunch of pathetic snowflakes!
