Streamlining success in Citrus County

Citrus County's new recycling program has seen some remarkable success, with household collections bins overflowing. Citrus County Solid Waste Director Casey Stephens says education on recycling is one of the keys to the program’s success.

He says there have been a number of requests for more drop-off locations, and extra routes have been added to handle the overflow.  The new single stream recycling program began in Citrus County October 1st.  All recyclables can now be placed in the same bin, instead of sorted by material.
