City, Ultimate Towing Discuss Towing Ordinances

A discussion regarding Gainesville's towing issues took place in a public meeting at City Hall Tuesday.

Stephen O'Grady, owner of Ultimate Towing, sat in on the meeting between Mayor Lauren Poe and City Commissioner Adrian Hayes-Santos.

Hayes-Santos said predatory towing complaints may come from places where the parking signs are not clear.

"We are already the most regulated out there," O'Grady said. "To have more regulations and make it more difficult for us to serve private properties is a bit concerning."

Toward the end of the meeting, O'Grady said he would work with the commission to discuss what needed to be changed when it comes to towing ordinances.
