• WUSF: AAA Urges Against 'Panic Buying' Gas, Says Florida Not Reliant on Colonial Pipeline. "A cyberattack on Colonial Pipeline has led to fuel shortages in parts of the southeast U.S. Florida is unaffected, but gas hoarding has caused some stations to run out."

• Pensacola News Journal ($): 73% of Pensacola gas stations without gas, but help is on the way after EPA issues waiver. "Pensacola continues to be ground zero for the state’s gas shortage, with 73% of gas stations reporting they are out of gas, according to GasBuddy."

• CBS4: Gainesville gas stations run dry with long lines after cyberattack to Colonial Pipeline. "The fears come from a shortage due to a ransomware attack on a major pipeline that provides about 45% of east coast fuel. But AAA says Florida does not rely on fuel from this pipeline and our supply should not be affected."

• WFTS-Tampa Bay: Florida price gouging hotline activated amid gas concerns. "(Attorney General Ashley) Moody also echoed the sentiments shared Tuesday by Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried reminding residents not to hoard gas and only purchase gas when needed. Such actions can often lead to fuel shortages and price gouging. Florida's price gouging hotline is 866-966-7226."

• WUFT News: Untold Florida: Would The State Ever Return To A System Of Paying You Cash For Returning Bottles And Cans? "When the consumer brings the bottle or other similar items back, they get a refund from the retailer. The retailer sells back to the distributor and gets reimbursed for the initial deposit. • Orlando Sentinel ($): Nikki Fried hints at a June 1 announcement in race for governor. "Fried has long been considered a potential challenger to Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, and she has been one of his fiercest critics in the Cabinet as well as online."

• Politico: The fight to draw Florida's new district is on. "The recent Census Bureau announcement that Florida will gain a new congressional seat has lawmakers and outside interest group predicting it could reshape Florida’s swing voter-packed I-4 corridor, with Democrats possibly losing out in the end. It comes against the backdrop of Gov. Ron DeSantis’ conservative remake of the Florida Supreme Court — which as a more liberal body, played a huge role in drawing maps during the last redistricting process."

• WUSF: DeSantis Signs Sea Level Rise Bill Into Law. "The new law establishes multi-year plans to tackle statewide flooding and coastal resilience."

• Panama City News Herald ($): Mask wearing over in Bay County schools? Students no longer have to wear them. "Bay County education leaders ended the mandatory mask requirement in schools effective immediately on Tuesday following an hours-long debate about the policy. "

• Orlando Weekly: Orlando rent less affordable than San Francisco, thanks to coronavirus housing squeeze. "The Orlando-Kissimmee metro would require a person to work 75.5 hours to pay rent on the average area apartment, just beating out San Francisco's 73.4 hours."

• News4Jax: Man wanted in Times Square shooting arrested outside McDonald’s in Starke. "A man identified by police as the suspected shooter in an incident in Times Square that wounded a 4-year-old girl and two women was arrested Wednesday in Starke by US Marshals, the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office said."
