Today Is The Last Day To Register To Vote In The 2020 Florida Primary

Tuesday is the deadline to register with a party or update voter registration to vote in Florida’s March 17 presidential primary. Because of the closed-primary system, only voters registered with a party can cast a ballot. (April Rubin/WUFT News)

Florida's 2020 primary election is set for Aug. 18, and eligible voters have until the end of Monday, July 20, to register to vote in it or to change their party affiliation.

You can do so by visiting this website or by contacting your local Supervisor of Elections or Tax Collector's office.

The state runs closed primaries, meaning you must be either a registered Democrat or Republican to vote for candidates in those partisan contests. In other words, independents and non-party affiliated voters will not be able to vote in the August contests.
